Society for International Development (SID) with the support of the Heinrich Boll Foundation East Africa, hosted a Virtual Public Energy Forum themed, ‘Impact of the Kenya Renewable Energy Feed-In Tariff Policy’ On Thursday 7 July 2022. 

The Energy Reference Group members comprising of expert policy makers, energy leaders, practitioners, private sector, civil society and media representatives convened in Naivasha to share and deliberate upon the policy, financial and market barriers to renewable energy in Kenya. 

This Public Energy Forum brought together expert panelists to highlight the issues around energy access, efficiency and affordability in Kenya.

In this edition we apply back-casting to highlight our engagements in 2024, and how these lay the foundation of our work and shape the year ahead.

Dubbed as a ‘Finance COP’, this year’s conference was platformed to be the centre-stage of the governments establishing a new climate finance goal and mobilizing finance for climate change mitigation and adaptation. However, the situation was not entirely as straight-forward at the close of the extensive two weeks in Baku, it was apparent that the outcomes was extensively invoking a poignant precedence.

It’s ‘all systems go’ for the curation of the Sustainable Energy Futures for Tanzania Report. This follows a successful consultative research workshop organized by the Sustainable Energy Futures (SEF) Project team, with the support of Heinrich Boll Foundation, in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania on 27 August.
